NWS Winter Storm Watch in Effect for CT, Snow Totals Could Reach 8-12 Inches

The National Weather Service has issued a WINTER STORM WATCH that REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY MORNING THROUGH TUESDAY MORNING…

Heavy snow and mixed precipitation possible. Total snow accumulations of 8 to 12 inches well inland, and 5 to 8 inches elsewhere. Ice accumulations of around a tenth of an inch or less possible.

The Hazardous Weather Outlook is for southern Connecticut, northeast New Jersey and southeast New York.

The storm will last from Sunday morning through Tuesday morning.

Travel could be very difficult. The hazardous conditions could impact holiday travel and the morning and evening commutes on Monday.

Precipitation will start as all snow on Sunday. The precipitation becomes a wintry mix Sunday afternoon into Sunday night before changing back to snow Monday. Snow continues Monday night.
