UPDATED Weather Forecast: 11-15 Inches of Snow Expected for Tuesday into Thursday

The National Weather Service updated forecast:

WINTER STORM WARNING IN EFFECT FROM MIDNIGHT TONIGHT TO 8 AM
EDT THURSDAY…

* WHAT…Heavy mixed winter precipitation transitioning to heavy
snow is expected. Total snow accumulations of 11 to 15 inches
and light ice accumulations are expected.

* WHERE…Portions of southern Connecticut and southeast New
York.

* WHEN…From midnight tonight to 8 AM EDT Thursday.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Travel will be very difficult to
impossible. Tree branches could fall. Expect significant
reductions in visibility at times.

PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS…

A Winter Storm Warning means significant amounts of snow, sleet and ice will make travel very hazardous or impossible. Strong winds are also expected. Check local Department of Transportation information services for the latest road conditions.

Mostly cloudy, with a high near 38. Wind chill values between 25 and 30. East wind around 8 mph.
Tonight
A slight chance of rain and snow before 10pm, then a slight chance of rain, snow, and sleet between 10pm and 11pm, then a chance of snow, freezing rain, and sleet after 11pm. Cloudy, with a low around 27. Wind chill values between 15 and 20. Northeast wind 10 to 14 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Wednesday
Snow, freezing rain, and sleet likely before 7am, then snow. The snow could be heavy at times. Some thunder is also possible. High near 33. Wind chill values between 15 and 20. Breezy, with a northeast wind around 20 mph, with gusts as high as 32 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. Little or no ice accumulation expected. New snow and sleet accumulation of 4 to 8 inches possible.
Wednesday Night
Snow, mainly before 1am. The snow could be heavy at times. Some thunder is also possible. Low around 28. Wind chill values between 15 and 20. North wind 16 to 18 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New snow accumulation of 7 to 11 inches possible.
Thursday
A 30 percent chance of snow, mainly before 7am. Partly sunny, with a high near 40. North wind 13 to 15 mph.
