NOTICE TO BETHEL TAXPAYERS

The First Real Estate payment on the 2019 Grand List is due and payable on July 1, 2020. If not paid by August 3, 2020 interest will be charged at 1 ½% per month from the due date or a $2.00 minimum charge, whichever is greater plus any additional collection costs. 

The Personal Property and Motor Vehicle tax is due in full on July 1, 2020, and if not paid by August 3, 2020  interest will be charged at 1 ½% per month from the due date or a $2.00 minimum, whichever is greater  plus any additional collection costs.  Delinquent Motor Vehicle taxes must be paid in cash, official bank check, credit card online only or money order, if registering a vehicle.  

Taxpayers can pay by check or credit card online at www.bethel-ct.gov .  Follow the online instructions.  There is a 2.95% fee for credit card use and .95 cent E-check charge.

CREDIT CARD PAYMENTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED IN THE TAX OFFICE

The Tax Collector’s Office, is located in The Clifford J. Hurgin Municipal Center, 1 School Street.  Hours are Monday-Wednesday 8am – 4:30pm, Thursday 8am-6pm, and Friday 8am- 12 noon.  Mailed payments must be postmarked no later than August 3, 2020.  Currently the Tax Office is not open to the public due to Covid 19.  There is a drop box located in the front of the Municipal Center for payments- NO CASH.

Failure to receive a bill DOES NOT relieve a taxpayer of the obligation to pay taxes or any delinquent charges.
