Storm Recovery Update for Monday, August 10, 2020

Eversource was able to supply tree and line crews to work with our highway department most of the day on Sunday. They were able clear the trees and wires from all remaining closed roads, although some are still one-lane. Drivers are advised to avoid Wolfpits in particular, as cleanup
work continues there.

I will provide an update on current restoration numbers later in the day.

HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT – COOLING CENTER TO BE PROVIDED

As temperatures are expected to rise, we are opening Bethel Middle School café for use as a cooling center today (Monday) and Tuesday from noon to 8pm. Charging stations will also be available. Masks are required and social distancing rules apply. Custodians will disinfect at regular intervals. Please limit your time to allow others to cool down and charge devices. Showers are also available at Bethel Middle School today and tomorrow. Hours are 6am to 9am and 3pm to 7pm.

TOWN HALL REMAINS OPEN FOR CHARGING DEVICES
The municipal center will be open for charging devices from 9am to 6pm.
@ the Senior Center cafeteria,  Please use the Senior Center entrance off Durant Street by blue awning.

Clean water is also available at town hall. Use the parking lot off Durant Street.  Potable water also @ Bethel FD and Stony Hill FD

Thanks to all for your patience and for taking care of your friends and neighbors.
