The Fifth Annual “26 Days of Kindness” took place this year in memory of the Sandy Hook victims. From November 19 to December 14 acts of kindness are performed in honor of the 26 lives lost at Sandy Hook Elementary. Each day is devoted to one of the victims.

This event began in 2013 and was the idea of Ashley Petersen, 25, from Southbury, CT, a Newtown High School graduate who also attended the Sandy Hook Elementary School. She was touched by the tragedy and wanted to encourage people to do acts of kindness for 26 days in tribute to the 26 children and educators who passed away on Dec. 14, 2012. The success of the 2013 event lead to the continuation of the event to this year with many supporters.

There are many ways you can share your kindness, if even in a small way. You can tailor your charitable act to the interests of the person being honored that day, or do an act of kindness in any regard.

Feel free to continue share your acts of kindness, photos, memories, or pictures. Spread the kindness!
