The Amerigo Vespucci Lodge ‘Italian Festival 2019’ Attracts a Large Crowd, Food is Spectacular, Last Day is Today

The Amerigo Vespucci Lodge outdoor “Italian Festival 2019” located at 10 Christopher Columbus Avenue in Danbury, CT (off I-84), was going strong yesterday on the second day of the three-day festival, with several thousand attendees, and beautiful sunny weather. The festival continues today from 12 noon to 7:00 p.m.

The food, ah, the food! Out of this world good! The “gravy” (pasta and meat sauce) is outstanding! (We should know, we sampled much of it). The menu includes Sausage and Peppers, Chicken Parmigiana, Linguine with Clam Sauce, Eggplant Parmigiana, Zeppole, Pizza Fritta, Homemade Tripe, Arancini, Ziti and Meatballs, and more favorites. Numerous desserts abound such as the most delicious pastries ever, including Eclair, Cannoli and Sfogliatelle, and Italian ice and more.

Head chef and owner Rocco Perna and his son Zac did all the cooking for the Italian festival at the Amerigo Vespucci Danbury CT sponsored by Chris Setario and Danbury Saving Bank.

The event has free parking, free admission, and live entertainment. There is an air-conditioned lounge and full service bar too. Many local vendors are at the festival. Kids activities include a bounce house and lawn games and more.

Live music is by DJ Joey Autuoro and the band Pane e Ciocollato, and Sunday will feature a performance by Eduardo Marques.
