Superintendent of Bethel Public Schools, Dr. Carver, Urges You to Contact Legislators Regarding State Budget

Message from Dr. Christine Carver, Superintendent of Bethel Public Schools:

As a follow up to my email on Friday regarding the state budget, I want to clarify that our delegation (Toni Boucher, Steve Harding, Mike McLachlan and William Duff) fully supports fully funding of Education Cost Sharing Grant and that only the leadership can call the legislature back in session to solve the budget issue.  The delegation has supported and helped craft proposals which fully fund education to the Bethel Public Schools.

I have been advised that contacting these individuals will be the most effective.Representative Steve Harding was kind enough to provide me with the contact information of who to contact (below):

Those are all the leaders in the House and Senate on both the Republican and Democratic Party. Only the President of the Senate (Martin Looney) and Speaker of the House (Joe Aresimowicz) have the power to call the legislature into session.

Please take a few minutes to contact them and urge them to get back into session to work on the budget.

If you have any other ideas on generating pressure to the leadership, please let me know.

Christine Carver, Ed. D.

Superintendent of Schools
