On May 4, 2019 at approximately 7:22AM, Officers from the Redding Police Department responded to a residence, for a report of a 13 year old female who had ran away sometime overnight. She was upset over being grounded and having her cell phone taken away.
A Silver Alert was issued while Search and Rescue teams from West Redding and Redding Ridge Fire Departments checked the area near the residence.
At 1:30pm, a resident who saw the Silver Alert identified the 13 year old walking on Rte 53 near John Read Middle School. After contacting Police, the resident drove the 13 year old to the Redding Police Department. The 13 Year old was evaluated by the Redding Ridge Ambulance Service and reunited with her parents.
