A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at St. Mary’s Church, Bethel, with the Rev. Corey Piccinino, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Obituary:

Peter J. Barrett, 63, of Bethel, CT passed away Thursday, August 6, 2015 at his home. He was the husband of the late Sheila (McCarthy) Barrett.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 a.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2015 at St. Mary’s Church, Bethel, with the Rev. Corey Piccinino, Pastor, officiating. Burial will follow in St. Mary’s Cemetery.

Friends will be received from 4:00 p.m.-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, August 11, 2015 at the Green Funeral Home, 57 Main St., Danbury.

Dear Faculty, Staff, Parents/Guardians:

It is with deep sadness that I must inform you that one of our Bethel Middle School teachers unexpectedly passed away last evening. Mr. Peter Barrett was a beloved social studies teacher at Bethel Middle School. Mr. Barrett was devoted to his students and will be missed by all.

I send my sincere condolences to his family, friends, and co-workers.
When we receive word regarding funeral arrangements, I will share the information with you.

A support team of psychologists, counselors, and pupil personnel staff from Bethel Public Schools are working with the Bethel Middle School staff to provide counseling and support to students as needed. I will forward that information to you once it is finalized.

Your child may have questions and worries about this loss. I have attached some information that may prove helpful to you as you talk about Mr. Barrett’s death with your child.

Please contact the Bethel Middle School if you have any issues you would like to discuss. Sincerely,
