DANBURY POLICE DEPARTMENT CT / FOLLOW-UP PRESS RELEASE 04/01/2022:

On March 31, 2022, an investigation was initiated by the Danbury Police after several students at Rogers Park Middle School became ill after consuming a chocolate edible containing THC.

As the investigation continued, between 10 and 15 students consumed pieces of a WONKA BAR, which three other students distributed. WONKA BARS are commercially manufactured edibles containing medical marijuana (THC).

We have seized what’s left of one of these edible bars and are confident it was at least partially responsible for the reaction experienced by the students. While we have not confirmed the presence of THC, we will be attempting to do so through testing.

Those responsible for bringing the edible to the school have been identified, but the investigation is ongoing, as we have yet to determine how the three students acquired it. To the best of our knowledge, all of the children involved were treated, released, and doing ok.

The attached picture depicts a WONKA BAR similar to the one seized during the investigation.
