National Breaking News: Church Shooting Suspect Dylann Roof Arrested in South Carolina
SUSPECT CAPTURED / National Breaking News:
NBC reports: Charleston shooting suspect Dylann Roof, age 21, of Lexington, South Carolina, has been arrested in Shelby, North Carolina, a few hours from the crime scene, during a traffic stop Thursday morning. Roof is in custody, according to the Charleston Police Chief Gregory G. Mullen.
Dylann is accused of a deadly shooting massacre in the historic Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church on Calhoun Street, where 9 people were killed on Wednesday night, in Charleston, South Carolina, including the pastor. Church members were gathered for a bible study and service.
CNN News states, A law enforcement official says witnesses told them the suspect stood up and said he was there ‘to shoot black people.’ There were 3 male and 6 female victims in the tragedy. Charleston Police and many Federal agencies were involved in the investigation to capture the suspect.
