Governor Lamont signs 65th executive order to mitigate the spread of COVID-19

Governor Lamont today signed another executive order – the 65th since he enacted the emergency declarations – that builds upon his efforts to encourage mitigation strategies that slow down transmission of the virus, and also to respond to the disruptions of Tropical Storm Isaias on the administration of Tuesday’s statewide primary. Executive Order No. 7MMM enacts the following provisions:

  • Management of absentee ballots for the August 11, 2020 primary: Enacted at the request of Secretary of the State Denise Merrill, who submitted a letter to the governor this morning seeking an executive order, this order clarifies several administrative steps in the management of absentee ballots for the August 11, 2020 primary.
