Today there are massive Frontier Communications outages in Connecticut and also in other areas in the Pacific Northwest USA. Customers are without TV, internet, telephone or all three and service may not return until Tuesday.

Frontier Communications CT Customers Have Massive Outages Statewide, No Internet, TV or Phone, May Last into Tuesday
Frontier Communications, headquartered in Norwalk, CT, offers service to 27 states but today there are massive Frontier Communications outages in Connecticut and also in other areas in the Pacific Northwest USA. Customers are without TV, internet, telephone or all three, and there were no company messages on their Facebook page until 28 minutes ago, and no indication of when service will return. Two tweets just appeared in the last 17 minutes on their Twitter page, first at 10:23AM (click to view larger):

Customers need to have their boxes rebooted by a technician, that cannot do it themselves.
Customers are venting their frustration on the website downdetector.com which also shows the outage maps and a graph for the last 24 hours (click to view larger):
Most reported problems are:
- Internet (71%)
- TV (22%)
- Total Blackout (5%)
Frontier is having issues since 6:26 AM EST, the website states.

Broadband internet uses DSL or fiber technology. Digital television is available only to fiber customer as part of the triple play Frontier FiOS service. Frontier mainly operates in rural areas.

According to a report by Hearst Newspapers, including Darien News, Frontier expects that the outage could last for 24 hours.

Frontier Communications announced the problem has since been resolved.
“The outage was caused by issues with Frontier’s coding for data transfer” according to a representative from the company, NBC reports. Local, not national, television channels in Connecticut were affected. Elizabeth Godbout, a Frontier spokesperson, said just after 11 a.m. Monday, that “all local television channels are back up now,” NBC reports.
