First Selectman Knickerbocker Issues Bethel Proclamation to Molten Java to Support Their ‘Human Rights’ Ideals, After ‘Act of Hate and Intimidation’ and ‘Vandalism’

After an incident occurred in Bethel on April 4-5, 2021, regarding vandalism of a rainbow colored Pride flag at Molten Java Coffee Roasters, Bethel First Selectman Matthew Knickerbocker issued a Proclamation to the business on April 8, 2021, in support of the right to display the flag and express their ideals without intimidation or fear. Knickerbocker stated that the Town of Bethel would show its support by also displaying the Pride flag on April 9, 2021, on the flagpole on the CJH Municipal Center lawn, that previously held the Prisoner of War flag.
