Excitement Surrounded the Bethel Cinema Movie Premiere of ‘Indemnification Claimed’
Imagine this, a real live Red Carpet Movie Premiere in our little Town of Bethel! It felt like the Oscars or Academy Awards of CT!
Excitement was in the air as guests arrived to the Red Carpet Premiere of Indemnification Claimed to view the screening of local Danbury filmmaker Pete Alcide’s latest short film from PeteMEDIA, on May 2, 2015. The film was actually shot on location in Danbury and Norwalk, CT. Bethel Advocate was there for the filming, and also for the Red Carpet event last Sunday. (Read story about on-location shoot here.)
Actors, actresses and Producer/Director/Writer Pete Alcide, posed for photos in front of the PeteMEDIA logo backdrop, as other guests arrived. Formally dressed handsome men and gals looked stunning in their fancy attire, different from their characters’ attire in the film.
As guests and cast entered the theater, singer/musician Dallas Heron gave a live performance with vocals and acoustic guitar. He is originally from Australia, living in the USA and performing locally and in New York City.
The screening began with interviews of the actors by Alcide’s wife, Audrey Alcide, with actors revealing their thoughts during the making of the film. It was a very candid view of the actors and added to the enjoyment of the viewing right after the interviews.
The film story theme is inspired by the story of Mary Magdalene – in this generation. Mary in a new location, with her new found aunt, falls into a lifestyle that is looked down upon. Her decision to change becomes her greatest challenge, even against her biggest supporters. The only one who stands with her risks losing everything.
The story slowly drew you in and was gripping from beginning to end, with surprising touches of humor in the serious theme, and a twist ending to the delight of the audience. There was even a scene with real snow falling down, shot in Norwalk, CT, and other scenes shot in frigid temperatures, but these actors were troopers and played their parts well. The extreme talent of this young group of actors is to be commended. Guided by the up and coming Producer/Director/Writer Pete Alcide, you have a winning team.
Local residents Teresa and Bart Fogel played parts in two of the PeteMEDIA movies. Teresa is in Indemnification Claimed as “Maggie’s Voice,” and also appeared in Subject to Retaliation grieving at a funeral. Both Teresa and Bart did voice overs for Indemnification Claimed. Bart Fogel is a professional voice over talent.
If you are from Bethel, Danbury, Norwalk CT, or any of the nearby surrounding towns, it was a special treat to see the scenes filmed in very recognizable locations, such as Kennedy Avenue in Danbury, CT near the bus station.
This is Pete Alcide’s third short film, others are Heart 2 Run and Subject to Retaliation.
All actors and actresses had amazing talent and very believable characters, some were seasoned actors and some just beginning their careers. We hope to see more PeteMEDIA productions soon, perhaps filmed in Bethel next time?
After the film viewing, champagne corks popped, and Director Alcide said he already had a story theme for his next movie.
