THOUGHT AND POEM

I got to go outside for a little while today. I took a ride out to our favorite ice cream place in Hampden, Massachusetts; a short distance away. I couldn’t help noticing that many people were out in their yards bagging up old leaves and sprucing up their homes.
I saw a few people planting flowers in their flower boxes and more importantly I saw a few gardens that had already had the soil turned.in anticipation of the vegetables that would soon be producing mouth-watering delights.
Around my neighborhood, the patio sets and grills were being brought out from the garages and I could see a few people washing the outside of the windows of their homes. This really gives evidence despite a drop in temperatures for the past few days that spring is here to stay.
When the spring cleaning is done and out of the way for this spring there is only one more thing left to get out of storage… the fishing poles and reels… and to go fishing at our favorite spot.

SPRING CLEANING…

Spring has often been a time when people do that extra cleaning around the house
Inside and out
Taking down any cobwebs hanging from the ceilings
Housing a spider or two that might send a few people screaming
But never the less these dust condos must come down
At least for now.
Curtains need to be washed and windows opened to let fresh air in
Rugs need to be taken out and shaken or beaten
Furniture needs to be move moved around so dusting and vacuuming can be done
Cushions needed to be flipped
Pillows plumped
Winter items need to be stored away
Replaced with colorful decor that for now will stay.
Then the yard needs to be raked
Garden plots need to be made
Patio furniture and grills brought out for summer’s use
Whew…there was so much to do
And when done we will take a good look at what we have accomplished
Next we will take out the fishing poles…work is done…it is time to go fishing!
