Bethel’s Stony Hill Volunteer Fire Company and Mutual Aid Alerted to Chimney and Dumpster Fire at Residence

Report from Stony Hill Volunteer Firte Company:

Yesterday afternoon as units were returning to quarters from a chimney fire on Route 58, members were alerted to a dumpster fire next to a house on Sunny Acres.

Mutual aid station coverage units from Brookfield Volunteer Fire Company and Danbury Volunteer Fire Battalion 19, INC. were still in town and took in the fire with Stony Hill & Bethel firefighters.

Brookfield Car 1 was first on scene and found a 30 yard dumpster on fire up against a house.

Stony Hill, Bethel, Brookfield & Danbury volunteers all worked to quickly extinguish the fire and keep it from spreading into the home.

The cause is under investigation by the Bethel Emergency Management & Fire Marshal office.
