Some Bethel residents were confused about receiving an “Absentee Ballot Application” in the mail before any announcements were made by the Town of Bethel about different voting processes available.
This year you have three ways to vote in the Primary to be held on August 11, 2020. The voting methods are include: Paper Absentee Ballot (after you fill out the Absentee Ballot Application and mail it in) via drop-off box at the CJH Municipal Center or by mail-in vote (using the supplied postage-paid envelope you received), or in person at your polling location.
Most Republic and Democratic voters recently received an “Application for Absentee Ballot” from the CT Secretary of State Office, Elections Administration Division, which read in part, “You are receiving this application for an absentee ballot because, due to COVID-19, the Secretary of the State has sent an application to every eligible voter in the state.Pursuant to Executive Order 7QQ, COVID-19 may be used as a valid reason for requesting a ballot.”

To vote by absentee ballot, fill out the application and return it in the postage paid envelope. You can also drop off your absentee ballot application using the official absentee ballot drop box located in front of the Municipal Center.
All of the usual Bethel polling locations will be open for in person voting for the Primary also.Polling locations are open from 6am to 8pm. Use this link to check your party affiliation. www.govote.ct.gov “
