Bethel Police Notify Bethel Middle School Administration About Student Threat on Snapchat, Sept. 17th

An incident happened on September 17, 2019, concerning a Bethel Middle School student making an “indirect threat towards the school on Snapchat” a letter reads, that was sent to parents, guardians and staff this week by Dr. Christine Carver, Superintendent of Bethel Public Schools, and Bryan Watson, Principal of Bethel Middle School. The Bethel Police Department notified the school of the incident and investigated it and found that the student did not have the means or intent to carry out the threat.

Communication from Superintendent 9-17-19

Dear Parents, Guardians and Staff,

This evening the Bethel Middle School Administration was notified by the Bethel Police Department that a student made an indirect threat towards the school on Snapchat. The Bethel Police Department immediately investigated the threat and found that the student did not have
the means or intent to carry out the threat. We are grateful to those who have come forward with information. If you have an additional information please contact the Bethel Middle School Administration. We are working closely with the Bethel Police Department to monitor the
situation and ensure the safety of our students and staff.
