Bethel Police Dept. Blood Drive was Successful Despite Snow Storm

Report by Paula Antolini, March 5, 2019, 9:02PM EDT

Despite almost a foot of snow in Bethel over the weekend onto Monday, March 4th, the Bethel Police Blood Drive in Honor of Maddie O’Farrell went on as planned yesterday.

Bethel Police Department message:

Thank you to everyone that came out on this snowy day to our Blood drive in honor of Maddie O’Farrell.

We had a HUGE day… 48 people registered and only 4 were deferred (not able to donate for various eligibility reasons). This means 44 productive pints of whole blood were donated.

The Red Cross will create 3 blood products from every whole blood donation (platelets, plasma and red cells). So, 132 patients were helped today by all your efforts!

“Thank you! Thank you! Thank you!

Hope to see everyone in May!
