Press Release:

Bethel, CT – Eileen Earle, Bethel’s Parks and Recreation Director is retiring after 37 years of service to the Town of Bethel.

Improvements at Meckauer park, the Bethel Dog Park, and the numerous athletic fields are just a few of projects that benefited by Earle’s leadership. She also guided her staff through the creation of many new programs, including an expansion of the theater program.

When asked about how she felt about her time in the position, she replied “I am thankful for the opportunity to serve the Bethel Community.”

Long time Assistant Director for Parks and Recreation, Rachael McGrath, has been chosen to replace Earle when she retires on April 1st, 2023.

McGrath has served the Town of Bethel in Parks and Recreation for 18 years. Prior to joining Bethel Parks and Recreation, she was the Assistant Women’s Basketball Coach at Quinnipiac University.

“I am eager to move forward with projects that were begun by Eileen,” said McGrath. “I have big shoes to fill and I am looking forward to a challenge.
