BHS helps fight cancer in memory of Thomas Fritch

Bethel High School has formed a team for the St. Baldrick’s Foundation upcoming event on November 22, 2016, at BHS (see details below) to raise funds to help fight cancer and honor the memory of Thomas Fritch.

“Thomas Daniel Fritch, age 14, of Bethel, passed away on Nov. 13, 2013 after a courageous battle against childhood cancer. He was born in Danbury on June 26, 1999, a son of Gerald and Diane (Hendra) Fritch. Thomas was a freshman at Bethel High School, class of 2017. He was supported by a great group of close friends and relatives during his fight. In addition to his parents, Thomas is survived by his older brother Jack, his grandfather Arthur Hendra of Toms River, NJ and many cousins, aunts, uncles, and great friends.” — From Obituary

Thomas Fritch had asked the Make-A-Wish Foundation for a project for the Bethel schools. A mural was installed at the front entrance of the Media Center of the Bethel Middle School in his honor, where Fritch spent much time.

BHS Music Teacher Richard Baumer is one of the participants on the team in this fundraiser on Nov. 22nd. He is shaving his head to cure childhood cancers, but you can help “spare” him.

Richard Baumer said, “Hey friends, my hair is on the line for a student-run St. Baldrick’s event on Nov. 22. Please consider donating to spare me. Any amount would be greatly appreciated. “

I’m raising money for childhood cancer research! Did you know that kids’ cancers are different from adult cancers? It’s true. And childhood cancer research is extremely underfunded. So I decided to do something about it by raising money for cures.
