Tonight approximately 226 seniors will gather to receive their Bethel High School diploma, only it will be a graduation like no other, due to the COVID-10 coronavirus precautions and Governor Ned Lamont’s restrictions still being in place for social distancing.
School officials plan on holding a drive-in graduation at 8:30 p.m. on June 18, 2020, on a field located on campus, off Judd Avenue. A movie screen will be set up to show a pre-recorded visual of students’ photos on the large screen as diplomas are being presented and photos are captured.

The ceremony will include seniors staying in their cars, then being individually called, by school counselors, to come up and receive their diplomas from the school Principal or Superintendent, when it is their turn. Color-coded rows will be set up with the students’ photos identifying the parking spot. One car per student and family is allowed and they were required to pre-register the car for this event. All must wear masks.
