Newtown Police K9 Saint Michael Passed Away

Bethel Advocate reported on this story on April 7, 2017, and we are sad to report this update.

Message from Bethel Police April 16, 2017:

It is with heavy hearts that we report Newtown Police K9 Saint Michael passed away this evening.

K9 Saint is shown here with his handler, Ofc. Felicia Figol.

We sincerely appreciate the medical staff at NVS Animal Hospital of Newtown, for doing everything in their power, to give K9 Saint a fighting chance.

While K9 Saint had recently been diagnosed with cancer, he was very playful and in great spirits.

We sincerely believed with the right treatment plan and with his great physical condition, his life could have been extended for at least a year if not more, so with that said, today was not expected.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to Ofc. Figol and the other officers who have worked with Saint and grown to love him.

“It is never easy to say good bye”

“You served and protected our town well, now it’s time to rest in peace, good boy Saint good boy”

End Watch: April 16 2017
