Yavapai County, AZ — Officials with the Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office (YCSO) announced the arrest of Jose Urquianeriz following a traffic stop that ended with the discovery of a large quantity of fentanyl.
The incident occurred on November 19 near I-17 and Middle Verde Road. During the stop, K9 Radar positively alerted deputies to the presence of narcotics inside the vehicle.
Fentanyl Pills and Children Found in Vehicle
Investigators reported finding 70,000 fentanyl pills hidden in the car. Shockingly, two young children under the age of six were also inside the vehicle at the time.
YCSO emphasized the severity of the situation, noting the risk to the children and the dangers of fentanyl exposure, which can be fatal even in small doses.
Additional Arrest and Unknown Details

Alongside Urquianeriz, another adult in the vehicle was taken into custody. Authorities have not released the identity of this individual or whether any charges have been filed.

- Possession of narcotic drugs

- Transportation of narcotic drugs
- Child abuse
