Woman Stabbed to Death while Protecting Her Partner During Violent Nightclub Brawl in New York City

New York City, NY — A late-night fight outside a Bronx nightclub turned deadly when a 35-year-old woman tried to protect her partner during a chaotic street brawl — and was fatally stabbed with a broken bottle, according to authorities and witnesses.

A Night Out Turns Tragic Outside Mama Dora Nightclub

The violent confrontation erupted shortly after 4 a.m. on Sunday outside Mama Dora, a nightclub located on East Kingsbridge Road. As patrons were leaving the venue, an argument between two groups escalated into a large street fight.

During the melee, the woman’s husband was knocked to the ground. Witnesses say the victim rushed to shield him from more punches and kicks — stepping directly between the attackers and her partner.

That’s when one of the aggressors reportedly slashed her with a broken bottle, causing fatal injuries. The horrifying moment was captured by surveillance video from a nearby business.

Broken Glass and Personal Items Marked the Scene

Debris from the fight, including shattered glass and what appeared to be a hair extension, remained scattered across the sidewalk hours later. Witnesses said the violence was shocking and sudden.

One bystander described the scene:

“They were all outside fighting. She came out with her husband and then the others rushed out too. She tried to stop them from getting to him — and that’s when she got stabbed,”
the witness said to The Post, asking not to be identified.

Another person recalled seeing the suspect holding a broken bottle, using it to deliver the deadly blow before he and others ran off into the night.

The Victim Suffered Multiple Stab Wounds

Police confirmed the woman sustained multiple stab wounds to her chest. Instead of waiting for emergency responders, someone at the scene placed her into a private vehicle and rushed her to BronxCare Health System. She was later transferred to Lincoln Hospital, where medical teams pronounced her dead.

Authorities have not yet released her identity publicly, as family notifications continue.

Video Shows Assailant in Yellow Jacket

Surveillance footage reportedly shows a man wearing a yellow jacket jumping energetically just before lunging forward and stabbing the woman. Moments later, he is seen fleeing with others involved in the attack.

As of Sunday afternoon, no arrests have been made. Police are actively investigating and searching for the suspect caught on video.

Witnesses Left Heartbroken and Fearful

People who saw the confrontation unfold described the scene as something they never expected to witness on their street. One emotional witness said:

“There’s not much left in the world. They need to find God,”
expressing disbelief that such violence could erupt so quickly.

Police Seek Information

Detectives from the NYPD are urging anyone with footage, additional witness information, or knowledge of those involved to contact police immediately as they work to identify the attacker and the group he fled with.
