Weston Man faces 12 Charges after Crime Spree Ends in High-Speed Chase in Miami Gardens

Miami Gardens, FL – A 27-year-old man is facing 10 felony and 2 misdemeanor charges following a series of crimes that began at Tootsie’s Cabaret in Miami Gardens and ended with him attempting to run over police officers in a stolen vehicle, according to an arrest report.

Crime Begins at Tootsie’s Cabaret

Authorities said Sedrick Travon Grady, 27, of Weston, was at Tootsie’s Cabaret, 150 NW 83rd St., Miami Gardens, just after 5:30 p.m. Saturday. Grady allegedly became jealous after seeing a woman he was in a sexual relationship with talking to other men inside the club.

The report states that Grady grabbed the woman and robbed her purse, breaking the shoulder strap in the process. A staff member alerted an off-duty detective, who saw Grady running through the parking lot with the stolen purse.

Suspect Steals Vehicle, Flees

Grady then reportedly took the victim’s car keys from the stolen purse and started the vehicle. When a uniformed detective attempted to stop him, Grady reversed the car and nearly hit two Tootsie’s security guards while fleeing.

High-Speed Chase Through Miami Gardens

Grady led police on a chase through Miami Gardens, running red lights, stop signs, and endangering pedestrians. Near Hard Rock Stadium, where a University of Miami football game was taking place, he reportedly drove over traffic cones and through a barricaded area.

As per Local10, the chase ended on Northwest 186th Street, where Grady rammed a detective’s vehicle. When officers tried to stop him, he attempted to run over three officers but ultimately hit the detective’s squad car again. He later complied with orders to exit the vehicle and was taken into custody without further incident.

Charges and Custody

Grady faces charges including strong-armed robbery, grand theft auto, fleeing and eluding, and aggravated battery on a law enforcement officer. Online records indicate he remains in Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, with his bond listed as “to be set”. Authorities said Grady made an admission before invoking his right to remain silent.
