Jennifer and James Carroll, Sarah’s parents, confirmed the devastating news and shared details about her final months. Jennifer said her daughter’s ex-boyfriend had been stalking her for the past two months. Sarah had reportedly been working to obtain a personal protection order, but never fully confided in her family about the extent of her struggles.
“To other parents – watch your kids,” Jennifer urged. “Try to get more into their life, try to get them to be open and talk to you.”
Remembering Sarah Carroll
Friends and family gathered at the apartment complex on Sunday evening for a balloon release in Sarah’s memory. Loved ones described her as a bright, caring, and ambitious young woman with her future ahead of her.
Her father, James Carroll, said Sarah was studying at Schoolcraft College with dreams of becoming a physician assistant. “She was loved by everybody. Everybody she met. She was wonderful. I’m going to miss my baby,” he said tearfully as reported by ClickonDetroit.
Her mother added: “She was alive, she was funny, she was smart, she had everything going for her.”
