West Covina Road Rage Caught on Camera as Cars Crash in Busy Shopping Center

West Covina, CA — Dramatic footage of an apparent road rage incident is going viral after two cars were seen chasing and crashing into each other at a shopping center near Sunset and Francisquito avenues last Friday.

Chaos in the Parking Lot

Witnesses say the incident began on nearby streets and spilled into the shopping center parking lot, where the cars continued smashing into each other. At one point, the bumper of one car appeared to fall off during the collision.

“The good thing is nobody was walking or the kids because I know that would be very, very dangerous,” said Jacqueline Cambron, a bystander at the scene.

Front-Row Accounts

Employees at Louie’s Liquor had a front-row view of the chaos.

“I made a joke and said ‘oh look, people really are racing to try the new Buzz Ball,’ and she looks up and goes ‘no Drea, look.’ We saw them racing diagonally through the parking lot, and I pulled out my phone and started recording,” said Drea Cano, an employee.

The cars reportedly crashed right in front of DD’s Discounts, creating a scene that alarmed both employees and shoppers.

“I’m just glad that nobody got hurt because the whole parking lot was full, people were everywhere,” said Arlene Cano, another Louie’s Liquor employee who witnessed the incident.

Police Response

West Covina Police responded to the scene, but by the time officers arrived, both cars had already left. Authorities confirmed that it does not appear any other vehicles were struck during the incident.

Road Rage and Community Safety

Incidents like this highlight the dangers of aggressive driving and road rage, particularly in crowded areas with pedestrians and shoppers. Experts recommend:

  • Avoid engaging with aggressive drivers
  • Stay inside your vehicle if confronted in a public area
  • Report incidents immediately to local authorities
  • Drive defensively in crowded areas like shopping centers

Authorities continue to review the viral footage for any leads that could help identify the drivers involved.
