Warr Acres Man Arrested in Major Fentanyl Bust; Over $100K in Cash and Drugs Seized

Warr Acres, OK – A high-stakes federal narcotics investigation in Warr Acres culminated in the arrest of a 63-year-old man after authorities discovered a large cache of fentanyl, heroin, and over $100,000 in cash in his car and residence, officials said.

Bust Unfolds After Suspicious Vehicle Call

Officers with the Warr Acres Police Department responded Sunday to a suspicious vehicle parked near Northwest 47th and Meridian. Inside, they found Fredrick Hunsaker, reportedly unconscious in the driver’s seat with drug paraphernalia in his lap. An officer preparing to administer Narcan said Hunsaker regained consciousness moments later.

“You look like you OD’d in there,” the officer was heard saying in bodycam footage.
“I’m just tired,” Hunsaker replied.

What began as a wellness check quickly turned into a federal drug bust.

Drugs, Cash, and Weapons Uncovered

A search of Hunsaker’s car revealed over three pounds of fentanyl, black tar heroin, and stacks of cash locked in a safe inside the trunk. Officials estimated the total value of drugs and money at over $150,000. The search was conducted under strict safety protocols due to the extreme potency of fentanyl.

“There are cases where an officer just searching a car actually goes unconscious. That’s how dangerous it is,” said Assistant Police Chief Jason Allen.

An additional $20,000 was found hidden in Hunsaker’s pants after he was taken to Logan County Jail.

Ongoing Federal Investigation

According to court documents, the Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) began monitoring Hunsaker in July, suspecting him of trafficking large quantities of fentanyl throughout the Oklahoma City metro. Residents told investigators they had long suspected illegal activity at the home Hunsaker inherited after his mother’s death, citing constant foot traffic.

“This was a guy bringing trouble to the area,” said Allen. “Most of the people in that neighborhood are good people.”

Authorities confirmed that Hunsaker uploaded videos to social media and had spoken to police about watching his house due to alleged burglaries.

Federal Charges and Community Relief

Hunsaker now faces federal charges of attempting to distribute fentanyl, with additional charges likely pending as the investigation continues. He remains in custody.

The community expressed relief following the arrest, saying they hope it brings peace back to the neighborhood.
