YADKIN COUNTY, N.C. — Authorities made a significant arrest on November 6, when Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office detectives, in coordination with North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement, apprehended two women following a vehicle search that uncovered methamphetamine, fentanyl, marijuana, and a firearm.
The women, 31-year-old Brittany Leigh Boyd and 41-year-old Wenona Dawn Todd, were stopped at Hamptonville Gas and Grocery after Boyd was served with a civil process. Todd, identified as Boyd’s passenger, had an outstanding larceny warrant at the time of the stop.
Search Reveals Large Amounts of Drugs and Weapons
During the vehicle search, law enforcement officers discovered:
- 99 grams of methamphetamine
- 10 grams of fentanyl
- 7 grams of marijuana
- A concealed handgun
- Currency and drug paraphernalia
Authorities confirmed that the quantities of drugs found indicated trafficking-level possession.
Charges Filed Against the Suspects
Brittany Leigh Boyd, 31, faces multiple felony charges, including:
- Possession of a firearm by a convicted felon
- Trafficking controlled substances
Boyd is being held without bond due to prior criminal charges.
Wenona Dawn Todd, 41, is charged with:
- Conspiracy to traffic controlled substances
- Possession with intent to manufacture, sell, and deliver controlled substances
Todd received a $5,000 secured bond for her outstanding larceny warrant, but is held without bond for the new drug-related charges.
Both women were scheduled to appear in Yadkin County District Court on November 12, as per the reports.

The Yadkin County Sheriff’s Office stressed that the arrests demonstrate a continued commitment to combating illegal drug distribution in the area. Officials encouraged residents to report suspicious activity and work with law enforcement to keep the community safe.
