BETHEL ADVOCATE ON THE SCENE:
Two Vehicle Collision Rollover Near Big Y Entrance, Route 6, Driver Extricated by Stony Hill and Bethel Volunteer Fire Depts.
Stony Hill Fire & EMS, Bethel Volunteer FD and Bethel Police responded to a two vehicle collision, with rollover, after noontime today on Route 6 near the front entrance to the Big Y shopping center in Bethel, CT. Stony Hill Volunteer FD Fire Chief Tom Galliford was on the scene and said the driver was taken to the hospital with minor injuries.
FD Report: At 12:14 pm, Stony Hill Fire & EMS were dispatched to Old Hawleyville Road in the area of Big Y for the report of a motor vehicle accident. Upon arrival of A3, it was confirmed that one vehicle had rolled onto its roof and the driver was still inside. Stony Hill and Bethel FD were then re-dispatched for an extrication.
Rescue 2 and Engine 3 arrived on scene shortly after and removed the drivers side door, freeing the sole occupant. Bethel Rescue 1 was returned prior to their arrival with our thanks. A3 transported the driver to Danbury Hospital with non life threatening injuries.
Units responding: S1, Rescue 2, Engine 3, Ambulance 3, Rescue 1, Medic 626 and Bethel PD.
