Prince George County, VA – Authorities say two people are dead and another is recovering after a serious crash on Route 460 in Prince George County on Tuesday morning. The accident remains under investigation by the Prince George County Police Department and the Crash Reconstruction Team.

Crash Happened on Route 460 Near Disputanta

According to investigators, the crash occurred at about 8:23 a.m. on September 16 in the 8200 block of County Drive, just outside of Disputanta. Police say the vehicle was headed westbound on Route 460 when it suddenly ran off the road, struck a tree, and then overturned.

When officers arrived, they discovered the vehicle on its roof and immediately began rendering aid to the occupants.

Two Victims Pronounced Dead at the Scene

Inside the car were three people.

  • Two victims died at the scene from their injuries.
  • A third passenger survived the crash with minor injuries and was transported to a nearby hospital for treatment.

At this time, the identities of the victims are being withheld until authorities are able to make a positive identification and notify the next of kin.

Police Reconstruction Team on Scene

The Prince George Crash Reconstruction Team remained on scene for several hours Tuesday, carefully examining evidence to determine the cause and circumstances of the deadly crash.

As of 3:51 p.m. Tuesday, the roadway was still an active investigation site. Officials have not yet confirmed whether speed, impairment, or weather conditions played a role in the incident, as per WRIC.

Police Asking for Witnesses to Come Forward
