Baltimore County, MD – Maryland State Police have arrested two men in connection with a human trafficking investigation in Baltimore County, authorities confirmed. The arrests were made in coordination with the Office of the State’s Attorney and the FBI, reflecting a multi-agency effort to protect victims and combat trafficking networks.
The suspects are identified as 32-year-old Deion Philip and 57-year-old Antoine Miles, both now facing charges related to sex trafficking and exploitation of minors.
Investigation Leads to Missing Juvenile
The case began in September when investigators from the Maryland State Police’s Child Recovery Unit discovered an online advertisement promoting a young female for sexual acts. Officers quickly located the girl in a Towson hotel room and identified her as a critically missing juvenile, prompting further investigation into the trafficking network.
Arrests and Additional Victims
On November 4, Deion Philip was arrested by Maryland State Police and the U.S. Marshals Service at a residence in Pennsylvania. During the arrest, investigators discovered another missing teen, who is also believed to be a victim of sex trafficking.
Two days later, authorities apprehended Antoine Miles at an airport, concluding the initial phase of the investigation but raising concerns that additional victims may exist.
Ongoing Investigation
Law enforcement officials stress that the investigation is ongoing, and they believe there may be more victims connected to this trafficking network. Authorities are urging anyone with information or who may have been victimized to contact the Maryland State Police at 410-694-4700.
Officials emphasize that victims will be treated with care and confidentiality, and their cooperation could be critical in bringing additional perpetrators to justice.
Community Awareness and Safety
The arrests highlight the importance of vigilance in monitoring online activity and reporting suspicious behavior that may involve exploitation of minors. Maryland State Police remind the public to:
- Report any suspicious online ads or activity
- Alert authorities if a child or teen is missing
- Cooperate with law enforcement when approached for information
Multi-agency cooperation between Maryland State Police, U.S. Marshals Service, FBI, and the State’s Attorney’s Office has been essential in securing the safety of these juveniles and preventing further exploitation.
