Madras, OR – A long-term drug investigation ended Wednesday night when a suspected trafficker’s vehicle crashed north of Madras, leading to the seizure of fentanyl, methamphetamine, and three firearms, authorities said.
Incident Details
The crash occurred around 9 p.m. Wednesday on Highway 26, when law enforcement identified a black 2023 BMW X1 believed to be transporting illegal narcotics from the Portland area into Jefferson County.
Officers attempted to stop the SUV after it turned onto NW Gumwood Lane and entered a private driveway. The driver, Tyler Wayne Fuller, 36, of Redmond, tried to flee, colliding with fences, a lawn, boulders, and ultimately tipping the vehicle onto its side. Police confirmed they were not pursuing the vehicle at the time of the crash.
Arrests and Charges
Both occupants of the vehicle are convicted felons and are not legally allowed to possess firearms. The woman passenger was cited for felon in possession of a firearm. Authorities continue to investigate and indicated that additional charges may be filed, according to the reports.
Drug and Firearm Seizure
The Central Oregon Drug Enforcement Team (CODE) confirmed the seizure of:
- Large quantities of fentanyl
- Methamphetamine
- Three firearms
Lt. Mike Landolt of the Bend Police Department described the operation as a “coordinated, multi-agency effort targeting narcotics coming into Central Oregon intended for wide distribution.”

- Madras Police Department
- Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office
- U.S. Marshals Service
Lt. Landolt emphasized the importance of community safety and continued efforts to disrupt narcotics distribution networks in the region.
