Pleasanton, TX – The Pleasanton Police Department arrested two individuals Thursday after a high-speed chase ended with the discovery of a loaded firearm, meth, heroin, and narcotics distribution materials in their vehicle.
Traffic Stop and Pursuit
Around 10:45 a.m., an officer attempted a routine traffic stop on a red 4-door sedan in the 500 block of Trade Street.
The vehicle fled at a high rate of speed, prompting a pursuit. During the chase, officers observed the passenger throwing suspected narcotics out of the window.
As per KENS5, the chase concluded near Galvan Creek when the sedan ran out of fuel, allowing police to safely conduct a felony traffic stop.
Discovery of Firearm and Drugs
During a search of the vehicle, authorities found:
- A loaded firearm
- Methamphetamine and heroin
- Various narcotics distribution materials
- Additional drug paraphernalia
Arrested Individuals and Charges
The driver, 47-year-old David Arocha, faces multiple charges:
- 2 counts of manufacture/delivery of controlled substances
- Evading arrest with a motor vehicle
- Felon in possession of a firearm
- Tampering with physical evidence
- Possession of marijuana and drug paraphernalia
- Parole warrant
The passenger, 25-year-old Colton Mann, faces similar charges, excluding evading arrest with a motor vehicle and the parole warrant.
Both Arocha and Mann were booked into the Atascosa County Jail.
