BEWARE OF VACCINE SCAMS

It’s a sad commentary on the state of affairs these days, but it is a fact that vaccine scammers are already operating. Please be aware of the following:
COVID-19 vaccines will be supplied to you at authorized clinics at no charge. You will never be asked for a credit card number or to reveal your Social Security number to “validate your eligibility.”

If you are contacted by someone who offers you a vaccine and asks for this information, we advise that you hang up immediately and notify the Bethel Police Department.

ALTERNATIVE WAYS TO OBTAIN THE VACCINE

In addition to Bethel’s soon-to-open local clinic, there is also a statewide registration system in operation now. It is called VAMS, which stands for Vaccine Administration Management System. This system involves a multi-step process in which you first register with VAMS and request admission into the system. Once you are approved, based on your age group, you will receive a separate email with an appointment request link. The clinics available may be outside of our immediate area.

You can access the VAMS system here:

The VAMS system is separate from the new Town registration system. You are free to use either of the two systems. In either case, please be aware that supplies are very limited and your patience is very much appreciated.
