Bennington, VT – Authorities in Bennington executed a significant drug raid on Monday, resulting in the arrest of three individuals connected to narcotics distribution in the area.
Law enforcement officers had been monitoring activity at 940 Gage Street as part of an ongoing investigation into suspected drug trafficking. Around 3 p.m. Monday, officers obtained and executed a search warrant at the residence.
During the search, police reported seizing approximately 124 grams of crack cocaine, nearly 5 grams of fentanyl, and over $4,000 in cash. Officials say the discovery is a major step in their effort to curb illegal drug sales in the community.

- Matthew Coakley, 41, of Bennington

- Melanie Muniz faces Possession of Cocaine, Fentanyl Trafficking, Sale/Dispensing from a Dwelling, Violations of Conditions of Release, and Conspiracy to Sell Cocaine. She is currently being held without bail.
- Eyesiel Ortega was charged with Possession of Cocaine, Fentanyl Trafficking, Sale/Dispensing from a Dwelling, and Conspiracy to Sell Cocaine. He is being held on $500,000 bail.
- Matthew Coakley faces a Conspiracy to Sell Narcotics charge and was released on certain conditions.

All three are scheduled to appear in court on Tuesday. Law enforcement officials stated that the investigation into the operation is ongoing, and additional charges may be forthcoming as more evidence is reviewed.
