Three Arrested After Violent Burglary Leaves Employee Injured, Suspect Shot

Boise, ID — A Saturday night burglary in Boise turned violent, resulting in the arrest of three suspects, one of whom was shot by an employee during the altercation, according to a news release from the Boise Police Department.

Confrontation Begins Over Alcohol Theft

The incident occurred just after 9:30 p.m. at a business on the 6300 block of West Fairview Avenue. Police say an 18-year-old Boise woman entered the store and attempted to steal alcohol. When a store employee confronted her, she responded aggressively.

“She then approached the employee and punched him in the face,” the police stated. “A physical altercation between the two occurred before two additional suspects…entered the store.”

The additional suspects — identified as an 18-year-old man and a juvenile — soon joined the attack.

Employee Severely Beaten

As the situation escalated, the employee was knocked to the ground and became the target of a brutal group assault.

“The employee was repeatedly punched, kicked, and stomped on as he remained on the ground, backed into a corner of the store,” the police noted in the release.

Surrounded and under attack, the employee pulled out a firearm and shot at the suspects, striking the 18-year-old male. All three suspects fled the scene in a vehicle.

Police Track Down and Arrest Fleeing Suspects

Shortly after the shooting, officers located the suspects’ vehicle near the intersection of North Curtis Road and West Irving Street. Inside, they found all three individuals, including the wounded man, who was taken to the hospital with a single gunshot wound.

The store employee also received treatment at a local hospital for serious but non-life-threatening injuries, according to police.

The Boise Police Department confirmed that all three suspects were arrested and charged.

Felony and Misdemeanor Charges Filed

All three individuals were booked into Ada County Jail on felony aggravated assault charges. The female suspect also faces an additional misdemeanor charge for commercial burglary.

Police have not released the identity of the juvenile suspect due to age-related privacy laws. Officials have also not disclosed the name of the business involved in the incident.

Investigation Still Ongoing

Authorities say the case remains under active investigation. Surveillance footage, witness statements, and physical evidence from the scene are all being reviewed to determine whether further charges will be filed.

Boise residents expressed concern over the increasing number of violent crimes tied to thefts and group assaults, especially involving young suspects.

As the investigation continues, police are urging anyone with information to contact Boise PD directly.
