Texas Teen Fatally Shot Outside House Party and Ran Over Her while Fleeing; Suspect Still on the Run - Deputies Say

Atascosa, TX — Authorities in Bexar County are searching for an 18-year-old man accused of killing a 17-year-old girl during a violent confrontation that erupted outside a house party in late September. Deputies say the teen was not only shot, but moments later, run over by a fleeing pickup truck. Nearly two months later, the suspected shooter remains at large.

Fight at Late-Night Party Turns Deadly

According to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office (BCSO), the chaos unfolded on September 28 at a residence along the 13000 block of Luckey Road in Atascosa, Texas. A gathering of partygoers took a turn shortly before 2 a.m., when an argument escalated and spilled from the home onto the street.

Deputies say that as tensions rose, gunfire suddenly broke out. Amid the panic, 17-year-old Alianna Ujueta was struck in the head.

When law enforcement arrived, they found the teenager lying in the roadway suffering from a fatal gunshot wound. She was pronounced dead at the scene, as reported by Law&Crime.

Pickup Truck Ran Over Victim After the Shooting

Witness accounts added an even more disturbing layer to the tragedy. A bystander told investigators that a dark-colored pickup truck drove down the street just seconds after the shooting — and ran over Ujueta before speeding away.

Authorities have not yet confirmed whether the driver of the pickup was connected to the shooter, or if the hit-and-run was intentional or an attempt to escape the gunfire.

Suspect Identified as 18-Year-Old Deshawn Suggs

Nearly two months after the shooting, detectives announced that they had identified 18-year-old Deshawn Suggs as the suspected gunman. The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office issued an alert stating that Suggs is wanted for murder in connection with Ujueta’s death.

While deputies have not disclosed the investigative details that led them to Suggs, they confirmed the recovery of clothing, jewelry, and spent shell casings at the scene — evidence that may have helped build the case.

Suggs remains on the run.

Suspect Already Facing Multiple Criminal Charges

According to records cited by local media, Suggs was already entangled in several criminal matters before the deadly shooting.

On September 19, roughly a week prior to Ujueta’s killing, Suggs was charged with unlawfully carrying a weapon. He also faces separate charges for burglary, robbery, and making a terroristic threat in a case dating back to February.

Deputies warn that Suggs should be considered dangerous.

Family Grieves the Loss of a Beloved Teen

Ujueta’s family is devastated, still trying to comprehend how their daughter and sister was taken so suddenly and violently.

Her older brother said the 17-year-old should be remembered for “the love she had for her family.”

Loved ones are pleading for justice — and for anyone with information to come forward.

Community Urged to Help Locate Suspect

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is asking residents to report any sightings or tips regarding Deshawn Suggs, stressing that community assistance is crucial in locating him.

This case has shaken the community — a teen’s life cut short, a suspect with a history of violent charges, and so many unanswered questions.
