ODESSA, Texas – A 23-year-old Odessa man has been arrested and charged after allegedly breaking into a teen’s bedroom and sexually assaulting her.

Elias Rojero, 23, was arrested Sunday, August 17, after investigators say he used a knife to break into an 18-year-old woman’s bedroom before committing the assault. Rojero faces charges of Aggravated Sexual Assault, a first-degree felony, and Possession of a Controlled Substance, a state jail felony.
According to the Odessa Police Department, officers responded to a reported assault at a home on Elmwood Avenue around 6:45 a.m. The victim, an 18-year-old woman, told authorities that she was asleep in her bedroom when Rojero entered without permission and sexually assaulted her as per reports.
Break-In Method and Investigation
Investigators discovered that the bedroom door had been damaged, indicating that Rojero had used a knife to pick the lock and gain entry to the room. Evidence at the scene was consistent with the victim’s account of the assault.
During an interview with police, Rojero reportedly admitted to the crime. He was taken into custody and transported to the Ector County Law Enforcement Center for processing.
Controlled Substance Found During Processing
While in custody, officers discovered cocaine inside a dollar bill belonging to Rojero during the processing. This additional charge led to a combined bond amount of $53,000.
