Brooksville, FL — A coordinated operation involving Hernando County detectives and a SWAT team resulted in three arrests on Wednesday after authorities raided a Brooksville residence and uncovered a sizable stash of illegal drugs along with a stolen firearm, according to the Hernando County Sheriff’s Office (HCSO).
Raid Connected to Ongoing Case Against Previously Arrested Suspect
The search took place at a home on Wildwood Drive as part of a continuing investigation into 46-year-old Robert Wright Jr. Officials say Wright Jr. was already under scrutiny following his July 28 arrest during a traffic stop, where he was allegedly found with 56.3 grams of fentanyl — a quantity significant enough to trigger major drug trafficking penalties in Florida.
Detectives returned to the Wildwood Drive residence after gathering additional information that suggested Wright Jr. may still be engaged in narcotics possession or distribution despite his prior arrest.
Significant Quantities of Narcotics and Ammunition Recovered
During Wednesday’s search, investigators uncovered multiple controlled substances believed to be in Wright Jr.’s possession. As per the reports, items recovered by detectives included:
- Fentanyl
- Cocaine
- Marijuana
- Alprazolam (Xanax)
- Diazepam (Valium)
- Gun ammunition
- Various forms of drug paraphernalia
Authorities stated that all of these items were located in areas linked directly to Wright Jr., further strengthening the case against him. Because he is a convicted felon, his possession of ammunition adds another serious charge to the growing list of offenses.
Stolen Firearm Found in Son’s Bedroom
While inspecting the rest of the home, detectives searched the bedroom belonging to 20-year-old Robert Wright III. Inside, they discovered a firearm that had been reported stolen out of Citrus County. The presence of the gun resulted in immediate charges against Wright III.
According to HCSO, there is no indication at this time that the son was involved in the broader drug-related activity connected to his father, but the possession of a stolen firearm carries its own felony consequences.
Three Suspects Facing Multiple Charges
All three individuals inside the residence were taken into custody and are now facing charges stemming from the raid:
- Robert Wright Jr., 46 — Multiple drug-related charges including possession of controlled substances, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon. He is being held without bond.
- Robert Wright III, 20 — Charged with possession of a stolen firearm linked to a case in Citrus County.
- Nikilya Davis, 23 — Facing three counts of drug possession, after detectives located narcotics attributed to her during the search.
Sheriff’s officials say additional charges could be added if subsequent lab testing or investigative findings reveal broader criminal activity.
Sheriff’s Office Emphasizes Ongoing Enforcement Efforts
HCSO noted that the raid reflects their continued efforts to dismantle drug operations and remove illegal firearms from Hernando County communities.
“Every narcotics seizure and every firearm recovered is a step toward a safer neighborhood,” the agency said in a statement following the arrests.
Authorities have not released additional details regarding whether the investigation is expected to expand or if the home was being used as part of a larger drug distribution network.
