Porter, Texas – A disturbing crime shattered the holiday spirit in Porter, Texas, after authorities arrested a 23-year-old man accused of kidnapping a 15-year-old girl on Christmas Day, according to the Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office.
The suspect, identified as Giovanni Rosales Espinoza, is facing multiple serious felony charges, including aggravated kidnapping and indecency with a child, following an intense search and dramatic rescue led by the victim’s family and law enforcement.
Kidnapping Reported on Christmas Afternoon
Deputies responded to a reported kidnapping around 4:50 p.m. on Thursday, December 25, after receiving an emergency call from a concerned parent on Conner Mills Court in Porter.
Investigators said the teenage victim had gone outside to walk her dog, something she routinely did. When she failed to return home at her usual time, her father became alarmed and immediately took action.
Using parental tracking controls on his daughter’s phone, the father was able to pinpoint her location, which led him away from their neighborhood and into a wooded area in Harris County.
Father Discovers Suspect in Red Pickup Truck
Authorities said the father drove to the tracked location himself and made a horrifying discovery. According to deputies, he found Espinoza partially unclothed inside a red pickup truck with his 15-year-old daughter and her dog.
The situation escalated quickly, but investigators credit the father’s actions with helping prevent further harm. Deputies said he assisted his daughter in escaping from the suspect and immediately contacted law enforcement.
Suspect Allegedly Threatened Victim With a Knife
The Montgomery County Sheriff’s Office alleges that Espinoza abducted the teenager from the street, threatening her with a knife to force her into his vehicle.
Witnesses in the area reportedly provided deputies with a description of the red pickup truck, which helped authorities identify and locate the suspect more quickly.
Law enforcement officials emphasized that the alleged use of a weapon elevated the severity of the charges, resulting in the aggravated kidnapping count.
Arrest Made, No Bond Granted
Espinoza was taken into custody and later booked into the Montgomery County Jail, where he remains held without bond due to the serious nature of the allegations.
Officials have not released additional details about how long the victim was held or whether the suspect and victim knew each other prior to the incident.
Sheriff Condemns Crime, Praises Deputies
Montgomery County Sheriff Wesley Doolittle issued a strong statement condemning the alleged crime and praising the swift response by deputies and detectives.
“Christmas is a day meant for joy, but this man chose to shatter that joy by targeting a child,” Sheriff Doolittle said. “I am incredibly proud of our deputies and detectives who worked tirelessly to ensure this dangerous predator was swiftly apprehended and is now off our streets. Rest assured that your Sheriff’s Office remains vigilant every hour of every day to keep your families safe.”
The sheriff’s remarks underscored the department’s commitment to protecting children and responding quickly to crimes involving minors.
