At 2:25pm this afternoon, Stony Hill Fire & EMS were dispatched to a report of a young male trapped underneath a vehicle after the jack had failed.
Units arrived on scene to a male party conscious and alert but unable to move. Rescue 2 arrived on scene and deployed its HURST Jaws of Lifehydraulic spreaders and the T and J Rescue Enterprises, LLC. TL-9 stabilization device to lift the vehicle off the young man.
From the arrival of Rescue 2 to the completed removal of the patient was just under 4 minutes. Such a quick rescue would not have been possible without the TL-9. We are glad to have this tool in our cache.
The patient ultimately refused transport to the hospital after being evaluated by EMS on scene.
