State Rep. Dan Carter (R-2) and Sen. Tony Hwang (R-28) were among the numerous lawmakers, professionals, and constituents to come together on September 16 to celebrate the ribbon cutting of a newly expanded facility for the esteemed manufacturer, Memry Corporation.

State Lawmakers Congratulate Bethel-Based Corporation on Recent Expansion

September 25, 2015 – BETHEL – State Rep. Dan Carter (R-2) and Sen. Tony Hwang (R-28) were among the numerous lawmakers, professionals, and constituents to come together on September 16 to celebrate the ribbon cutting of a newly expanded facility for the esteemed manufacturer, Memry Corporation.

“I’m pleased the Department of Economic and Community Development could fund this project, and essentially invest in Bethel,” said Rep. Carter. “This expansion has provided a great deal of job opportunities to our residents, and for that I am thankful. I hope Memry can serve as a model of inspiration to all corporations that are based in Connecticut and looking to expand and prosper despite economic hardships.”

“It was a thrill to participate in a Connecticut business success story that reflects a collaborative relationship between the state and private entrepreneurs to create more jobs and economic growth,” Sen. Hwang said. “It serves to remind us that government doesn’t create jobs. Our critical role is to support, empower and create an environment where businesses can succeed and grow.”

Memry produces medical implants and surgical instruments from nickel titanium alloys, such as blood clot filters and stints. A small portion of their products are also used in aerospace and automotive technology.
