Shelley, Idaho – Two Shelley men are facing serious felony charges after authorities seized thousands of fentanyl pills, other illegal drugs, and more than 30 firearms during a major raid on Wednesday, October 8, 2025.
The operation, led by the Bingham County Joint Investigations Division, is being hailed by Shelley Police as a significant step toward disrupting drug trafficking and protecting community safety.
Suspects and Charges
Michael Schlosser, taken into custody immediately, faces multiple severe charges, including:
- Trafficking Fentanyl
- Trafficking Methamphetamine
- Trafficking Heroin
- Felon in Possession of a Firearm
Schlosser is also charged with Possession of Cocaine, Marijuana, Stolen Property, Drug Paraphernalia, and is listed as a Persistent Violator.
Mark Butler is facing charges of Trafficking Methamphetamine and Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, and will be summoned to court.
Massive Drug and Firearm Seizure
Police executed a search warrant at 307 N Park Avenue, spending 11 hours processing the scene. As per the reports, the investigators recovered:
- Over 3,100 fentanyl pills
- Approximately 10.5 ounces of methamphetamine
- Multiple containers of black and brown heroin
- More than 30 firearms, illegally possessed by a convicted felon
- $12,000 in cash
- Smaller amounts of cocaine, Xanax, marijuana, and hundreds of drug paraphernalia items
Officials say the stash represents the profits and materials of a large-scale narcotics operation.
Coordinated Raid Ensures Safety
The raid was a joint effort involving the Bingham County Sheriff’s Office, Blackfoot Police Department, and Shelley Police Department, coordinated with local STAR Team (SWAT) officers due to the suspects’ criminal history and the presence of firearms.
Police deployed a Bearcat armored vehicle during the operation. Residents were safely removed and detained without incident, while detectives and a drug-sniffing K-9 searched the home, uncovering the extensive drug and weapons cache.
