CONCORD, Calif. – Seven teen suspects were arrested early Sunday morning following a smash-and-grab burglary at Sunvalley Shopping Center, according to the Concord Police Department.
Burglary Incident
The incident occurred just before 4 a.m., when mall security reported a burglary in progress. A large group of suspects forced entry into glass doors, breaking one down to gain access.
When officers arrived, three suspects were apprehended on-site. The remaining four fled in a vehicle, prompting a police pursuit. The driver lost control, crashed, and fled on foot. Authorities later located the driver hiding in bushes and took him into custody.
Weapons and Charges
During the arrest, one suspect was allegedly found in possession of a firearm with modifications that made it function like an assault weapon.

The Concord Police Department confirmed that there are no outstanding suspects. All seven face an extensive list of charges related to burglary and weapons violations. Here are the details of the suspects according to the reports –
- Six juvenile boys from San Pablo and Richmond were booked at Contra Costa County Juvenile Hall.
- An 18-year-old from Richmond was booked at the Martinez Detention Facility.
