Serious Four-Vehicle Collision in Miller County Left 2 Injured; One Airlifted to Hospital

Miller County, MO – Two people were injured following a four-car crash on Highway 52, east of Admire Road, on Thursday morning, authorities said.

Crash Details

The Missouri State Highway Patrol (MSHP) reported the crash occurred at 10:35 a.m. and involved the following vehicles:

  • 2001 Chevrolet Silverado
  • 2016 Ford F-550
  • 2017 Nissan Altima
  • 2024 Genesis GV70

According to MSHP, the drivers of the Chevrolet, Genesis, and Nissan were stopped in traffic, waiting for another vehicle to turn.

The Ford F-550 driver began to skid and struck the rear of the Chevrolet Silverado, which then collided with the rear of the Genesis GV70. This impact caused the Genesis to hit the rear of the Nissan Altima, resulting in a chain-reaction crash.

Injuries and Medical Response

  • The Genesis driver, a 67-year-old man from Centerville, Iowa, sustained moderate injuries and was transported by ambulance to Lake Regional Hospital. He was wearing a seat belt at the time of the crash.
  • The Chevrolet driver, a 69-year-old man from Stover, Missouri, sustained serious injuries and had to be airlifted to a hospital. Authorities noted he was not wearing a seat belt.

No additional injuries were reported.

Safety Reminder

The MSHP emphasized the importance of wearing seat belts, noting that it can significantly reduce the severity of injuries in multi-vehicle collisions. Drivers are also reminded to maintain safe following distances and adjust for traffic conditions to prevent chain-reaction crashes.
