Senator Boucher: ‘Make Your Voice Heard – End DOT Control of Fare Increases!’
The public panned proposed bus and rail fare increases and service reductions in large numbers at recent CT Department of Transportation meetings. The changes would negatively impact commuters, businesses, and the local community.
Will the DOT pursue other options?
Unfortunately, DOT bureaucrats can reject the public’s input and implement these unpopular measures. They don’t answer to the public and they have not. Thousands of commuters have weighed-in in the past to stop 23% rail increases, but their protests fell on deaf ears and the DOT hiked fares anyway.
This must change!
SB 386 requires legislative approval for fare increases and service reductions. Your legislative representatives answer to you.
It’s time to make your voice heard!
