Senator Boucher: ‘Don’t Let State Agency Bureaucrats Decide Your Transportation Fate’

March 10, 2018

Who should make the decisions about whether Connecticut has tolls? Right now, elected officials who answer to you are the decision makers.

Bill 5393 would create a CT Transportation Authority, which would make all the decisions about transportation needs in our state.

Translation?

If Bill 5393 passes, the legislature would sell out its decision-making responsibilities to unaccountable, unelected, faceless state government bureaucrats. These state employees would have no accountability to the public.

CT tolls could be everywhere if this bill passes and for any amount. One study suggested 20¢ per mile. At that rate, a trip from Stamford to New Haven, five days a week, for 50 weeks a year, would cost you $3,800 a year.

You can help me stop this bill from becoming law!
